Getting started
- How do I start exploring countries in BeDreams?
- Launch the app and tap the Explore tab. Browse the complete list of 194 countries, search by name or capital, or sort by region. Tap any country to view its flag, capital, facts, and local time zone. Everything is pre-loaded and works offline from day one.
- Do I need to create an account or pay a subscription?
- BeDreams is completely free with no accounts, logins, or subscriptions required. All 194 countries and all features are available immediately upon downloading the app. You own your data entirely—it's stored on your device, not on our servers. Install once and enjoy the full offline atlas forever without any recurring charges.
- Can I use BeDreams without internet?
- Absolutely—that's the whole point of BeDreams. The app is fully offline. All 194 countries' data, flags, capitals, fascinating facts, and time zones are pre-loaded on your device. You never need an internet connection to explore the world, compare countries, quiz yourself, or manage your Passport collection. Use BeDreams anywhere, anytime.
About the features
- How does the Compare feature work?
- Open the Compare tab and select any two countries from the list. The app displays both countries' profiles side by side, including flags, capitals, populations, areas, time zones, and detailed facts. The Compare feature is perfect for travelers deciding between destinations, students testing geography knowledge, or anyone curious about how countries stack up.
- What's the Quiz feature and how do streaks work?
- The Quiz feature challenges you with flag identification and capital matching questions. Beat the timer to earn points and build streaks—consecutive correct answers without errors. All your quiz attempts and streak records are saved locally in your device's QuizScore records. Challenge yourself to improve your geographic knowledge or compare high scores and streaks with friends offline.
- What can I do with my Passport?
- Mark the countries you've visited in your Passport to create a visual record of your travels. Also mark countries you dream of exploring to plan future adventures. Your Passport stores these PassportMark entries entirely on your device, showing your travel history and aspirational destinations at a glance. It's a personal geographic journey tracker—no cloud upload required.
Data & storage
- Where is my data stored?
- All your data—including PassportMark entries in your Passport, QuizScore records from your quizzes, and your country exploration history—is stored exclusively on your device. No servers, no cloud accounts, no external uploads. When you uninstall BeDreams, all stored data is automatically deleted. You have complete control and privacy over everything.
- Can I back up or export my Passport and Quiz scores?
- Currently, BeDreams stores all data locally on your device. Backups occur through iOS's standard device backup via iCloud. If you restore your device from a backup, your Passport and quiz scores are restored. Manual export of Passport or QuizScore data is not currently supported but may be added in future updates.
- Will my data sync across multiple devices?
- BeDreams does not use cloud sync. Each device stores its own Passport, QuizScore records, and preferences independently. If you use BeDreams on multiple devices, each maintains independent data. You can back up via iOS iCloud, but manual syncing across devices is not supported. This design prioritizes privacy over cloud dependency.
Troubleshooting
- The app crashed when I opened it. What do I do?
- Force close BeDreams (swipe up on App Switcher), wait 10 seconds, and reopen. If crashes persist, try restarting your device. If the problem continues, check that you're running the latest iOS version and the latest BeDreams version from App Store. Email [email protected] with 'App Crash' in the subject line.
- Search isn't finding a country I'm looking for.
- Search works by country name, capital, and region. Try searching by capital name instead of country name (e.g., 'Paris' for France). Make sure you're using English spelling. If a country is still not found, check that BeDreams is running the latest version from App Store. Report the issue to [email protected].
- Some countries' time zones seem incorrect.
- BeDreams displays current local time for each country based on standard time zone databases. Time zone offsets change during daylight saving transitions, and some regions observe multiple zones. Verify the country's actual time zone on World Time Server. If you find an error, report it with the country name and correct time zone to [email protected].
